Jacey Jacobsen
Jacey Jacobsen is a 13 year old* fiddler from Denham Springs, LA. She is the daughter of Jerry and Jodi Jacobsen. Jacey started playing the fiddle at the age of 4. She enjoys playing the "violin" in classical music and loves playing Bluegrass on her "fiddle"! She has enjoyed the privilege of playing with great friends including The Harrigill Family (Vidalia LA), The Saltgrass Band (Lake Jackson TX), Flatt Lonesome (Nashville TN), High Lonesome, Driskill Mountain Boys (Baton Rouge LA), Kenny Parrott (Branson MO), Chris LeBlanc (Baton Rouge LA) and Mr. Bob Saxton. She has played in several Bluegrass Festivals including Pecan Ridge in Jackson LA, Spring Creek Bluegrass Festival in Bellville TX, Great Southern Bluegrass Festival in Angie LA and Fiddles and Vittles in Vidalia LA. Jacey has been a frequent guest at The Old South Jamboree in Walker, LA where she was recently listed as the “Featured Artist”. She also enjoys playing in churches including Fellowship Baptist Church in Greenwell Springs, LA and Riverside Baptist Church in Vidalia, LA. Her Classical accomplishments include 1st and 2nd place in the Louisiana Music Teachers Association String Rally for Southeast Louisiana in 2011 and 2012. She received Superior ratings in the National Federation of Musical Clubs (2011 - 2013). 2014 was her 1st trip to SPBGMA which she loved as she was able to meet so many new friends and talented musicians of all ages. She is looking forward to a return trip to SPBGMA in 2015!
