Garrett Mason
Garrett Mason, 17*, is a tenth-grader at Danville High School and lives in Hartselle, Alabama. He started playing the guitar at age 9. At age 13 he began playing the mandolin and became a member of the FFA String Band for Danville High School. He developed a love for Bluegrass Music and has since learned how to play the banjo, fiddle, Dobro® and bass. He plays the drums at his Church, Trinity Baptist, and is also very active in his youth group and the praise band. Garrett is one of the founders of the group Dixie Flavor. They have recorded two CD's and have had numerous opportunties to open up for great bands like Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and The Paul Williams Trio. His dream is to one day play on the Grand Ole Opry. His musical influences are Allen Watkins, Earl Scruggs, Tony Rice, Mark O'Connor, Sam Bush, and Alison Krauss and Union Station.
