Elli Rowe

Now a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, 14 year old* Elli Rowe grew up in Minnesota surrounded by music.  She spent several years following her parents around the upper midwest as they played in the bluegrass band, “Copper Creek.”  In Minnesota she was a member of the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association (MBOTMA) where she was very involved in the Grass Seeds program which held instructional camps for kids at several of their festivals.  She is a two time winner of the annual MBOTMA talent contest and was proud to be able to have earned a spot on the main performers stage.  She has travelled to music festivals since she was little and has developed a deep love for bluegrass. She first started singing in church and over the years has been able to not only play and sing with her family but with some of her musical inspirations.  Elli’s first instruments include the piano and the fiddle.  She took up the guitar at the age of 10 and has hardly put it down since.   She has recently started playing mandolin and banjo as well and she’s expanding her northern roots by taking up clogging.  She is very excited about the recent move with her family to Tennessee as she loves meeting others her age who share her passion for music.  Although she is a fan of many, some of her favorite current bluegrass bands include Blue Highway, Lonesome River Band, and The Special Consensus, but she really loves looking up to the many successful women in bluegrass.  Some of her inspirations include Rhonda Vincent, Alison Krauss, Amanda Smith, and Molly Tuttle.  Elli is proud to be a member of “Tomorrow’s Bluegrass Stars” and is excited to be a part of the future of bluegrass.
