Ivy Phillips

Ivy Phillips is more than just your average kid from Chapmansboro, Tennessee. She is an all around musician and state fiddle champion. Ivy first became interested in the fiddle after watching her brother take lessons at a local college. Within the next year, at the age of three, she began to take them too. Being homeschooled and working very hard at a young age, she started competing at local festivals and making many bluegrass friends. Today at the age of thirteen*, she has won several state titles, plays in many bands, and joins Kids on Bluegrass at IBMA. It has been rumored that Ivy can play all the instruments in a bluegrass band. Well, it's no rumor. After learning the fiddle, she was determined to play the mandolin, guitar, bass, clawhammer banjo, Dobro®, and recently the ukelele. According to her trophies, she has not only placed in all of these but is also one of the top cloggers for her age in the state. In 2013, she was the first to bring home seven awards out of seven categories at the Smithville Fiddler's Jamboree. This accomplishment led her to be National Championship Country Music Beginner Fiddler and Entertainer of the Year in overall instrumental. Ivy dreams one day to fiddle and dance her way on to the Grand Ole Opry, graduate from college, and travel the world through the love of her music.
